Riley Encased Methodology and the integrated REM Encasement Device have demonstrated to be highly effective in reforestation, habitat creation, environmental restoration, shoreline stabilization and erosion control applications. The device accelerates the adaptation process and the outspread of aerial roots into the surrounding environment while maintaining an optimal level of protection for seedlings during all stages of development. The design facilitates “REM Adaptation”, which is defined as "induced changes in morphology or structure that habituate the mangrove to a non-native environment and hydrology establishing reproductively mature trees where natural regeneration cannot occur and conventional planting methods are ineffective."
